Enter by the narrow gate because wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction and most
people go down that path,
(Matthew 7:13).
That broad path of self destruction the majorities seem to walk is the path of fear. A continuous struggle to
keep what one has and never to give up on what they want is the basis of their thoughts and actions.
The fact is the only secret of happiness is to escape self-centered fear by getting involved in helping others.
St. Paul reaffirms this when he says,
I consider my own life worth nothing that I might accomplish the purpose Jesus Christ has for me.
”(Philippians 3:8).
There is a purpose HE has for your life also and that is what that empty feeling in your gut is trying to tell
you. He wants you to be a part of something much so significant and so unbelievably large, you cannot now even
imagine it.
Recent discoveries in physics combined with research on the human brain prove that we are all interconnected,
especially those who are part of Christ’s body here on earth. Similar studies in mental health show that there
is a direct correlation between depression, suicide and people who feel isolated or isolate themselves from other
people.
The fact is we are all afraid of losing what we have or not getting what we want. The only way to overcome this
fear is to get involved in the Kingdom of God where all we have and all we want is God’s Kingdom and his
righteousness or the right way of thinking which creates the right way of living.
When we do this, we get outside of ourselves, and we find true spirituality by transcending our own pain and
problems through assisting those people who have never entered into conscious contact with God, or helping people
who have gone astray from the Christ follower’s path to come back to him. On the bright and shining path, more
often than not, the people you assist will be victims of the exact same pain and problems that you have
experienced.
There are a growing number of people who are disillusioned with the idea of only being a part of a large group
that gathers together, to watch and applaud a stage show, where they can hide in anonymity and never really get
involved in the real issue of life. That issue is to find ourselves and find God.
