Hello Rick Amato Live group!!! Im excited to be on here, Im new and have many questions about dating and courtship ( as some may call it)
Im only 16 and a new Christian, Ive been told by mature Christian that courtship is the way to go if Im interested in someone... what does all this mean? Is it like hanging with my best friend or my companion?
Is kissing ok in a christian relationship? i want to do whats right but its hard because Im young and well... you know, God gave us things called Hormones... how can I control them???

Can someone explain courtship and how to control the "urge".

I am 24 and just now learning myself. I am not perfect but can tell you from past experience what not to do.
Kissing holding hands hugging all that is ok, but you need to remember what comes with that type of effection. The temptation to do more. Also sometimes a kiss or hug or even holding hands can be a misreading signal to ones emotions.
We as humans tend to relate hormones reacting to physical touch as a "feeling of love" ya you love it all right, the rush of adrenaline you get when your horomones are running rampid through out your body. I have discovered for myself personally that the best way to get to know someone in a future relationship potential help-meet (that is what God created Adam and Eve for to Help one another). Spouse I know your 16 and probably not thinking on a long term goal like that however every person you date is a potential for marriage.
The best way is communication with out physical contact. I mean a hug showing affection is o.k. in moderation its a sign of love. However there are other ways to show love to someone: Listening intently to what they have to say, prayer for their needs, asking how their day went, a nice gesture or gift, a simple smile or note that just says I love you. Support in the good times and support in the bad.

I am not telling you that physical touch is a bad thing, by all means it is not. God intended for a man in a woman to show this type of affection towards one another. However chose it in a united relationship through marriage.

So way to go on saving your virginity and I am proud of you for searching for the right answers. I hope this helped.
